Celebrity Hair Removal

Did anyone recently see the Kim Kardashian interview with Oprah – she openly admitted to having laser hair removal all over her body and has even gone as far to recommend laser hair removal to some of her other well-known siblings! One episode even saw her and her sister Khloe receive the treatment at a top laser hair removal clinic in Los Angeles.

Now as per usual – the American celebrity trend of laser hair removal is slowly spreading over into the UK – and its coming quickly – with new clinics popping up all over the place and ‘coupon’ deals for this sought after treatment being seen everywhere.

We want to know your thoughts about this treatment – do you think it was a little bit ridiculous that Kim Kardashian had the treatment everywhere? Is it lazy ? Finally, are you scared or apprehensive of this treatment.

Here at Prolase we are always open to hearing people’s opinion on this treatment and would love to hear your views! Personally, we think that it is great to hear someone talk so openly about the successes of Lase Hair Removal.

Male grooming: Trend or Foe?

Hair removal and male grooming used to be confined to divers and swimmers looking to become more streamlined. But since poster boy David Beckham has appeared in a series of advertisements and photo shoots looking well-groomed and cleanly shaven (chest and back included) a war has begun. Man against body hair. Everyone from troops in Afghanistan, to the heavily tattooed to the city gent is being inspired to lose that extra body hair. We are betting that even Chewbacca is a closet groomer.

More and more men are taking that long walk to their local salon and striving to become hairless and hot. And with the increase in popularity of male grooming, men are seeking new methods of hair removal, which are long lasting, effective and keep all areas smooth and soft. Confident guys are even jazzing up certain areas using colours, shapes and stencils.

Laser Hair Removal

There has been a huge influx in interest in Laser Hair Removal. There are many online voucher websites that offer discounts for Laser Hair Removal Treatments. Is there a catch using these discounts?

Laser Hair Removal involves inserting a small laser into the hair follicle and then burning it out beyond repair; meaning that it cannot grow back, or it grows back extremely slowly.

Laser Hair removal is seen as being a very safe and effective way of removing hair for a long period of time. However, one must always be careful where the removal is done, as there are many places that offer it for a price that seems to be good to be true. This usually means that cutbacks have been taken to offer this service so cheaply. When one wants to have Laser Hair Removal, the best results should always be expected. It is important to do research about the clinic you are using before actually going to get it done.

The practitioners must be fully qualified to use any sort of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) equipment. There are many shock horror stories on the internet where people have been burt by the laser due to the fact that the practitioners did know how to use the equipment properly. Many people believe that all Laser Hair Removal is the same – However, this is a big misconception. The Laser is set up in accordance to how sensitive your skin is, the thickness of your hair and the colour of your hair. After the treatment is complete the practitioner can prescribe you with additional treatments that will make the hair removal more effective.

Generally speaking laser hair removal is very safe when a qualified practitioner is carrying out proper due dilligence. The process is non-invasive and has been used safely on thousands and thousands of people in the past. Problems only really occur when the practitioner makes an error of judgement, which, if you’re going with a reputable company with a proven track record, is very unlikely to happen.

How we love the sun!

Being a woman, is undeniably tough! This weather; although it’s absolutely divine, came out of no-where – leaving us girls entirely unprepared for the summer! We adore the sun and our little dresses – but every day it is difficult to look perfect! Why can’t it just be easy?

There is a long list of things us girls need to do before we put on our lovely little frocks! We need to do our hair (which often falls out of place – due to the humidity anyway) – we need to add some colour to our pasty British legs.  Then comes the really tedious and boring part of our morning/evening ritual of shaving- undeniably the one of the worst aspects of being a girl!

Why can’t it just be a far more simple process for us women! If we can fake tan and it can last for a couple of weeks – that’s one process we job we don’t have to think about for a bit. Hair – well that will always be a struggle. Shaving.. mmm solution? Let’s think about it – waxing? Fine that lasts for a week or so, but oh dear its painful…. Laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal –  sounds painful… well no not really. Practically painless. Prolase, Fulham uses the most advanced systems to enable effective hair removal from all areas of the body.  Ellipse IPL Hair Removal system is one of the most advanced available today and clinical studies have shown that over 85% hair reduction is apparent after only six treatments. Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash lamp to remove unwanted hair in minutes.

Before Ellipse product was released renowned medical practitioners carried out clinical trials to trial Ellipses safety and effectiveness. The results of these trials were then published in respected medical journals. Visit www.ellipse.org to view these papers.

Hair removal and the procedures used are a common concern for many patients. Ellipse uses a special cooling system that lowers the temperatures of the skin, thetreatment is not painful and many people who have used Ellipse refer to thesensation as a snap of a rubber band and much less painful than waxing.

Well – sounds easy doesn’t it!  It also gives us girls a few extra ‘bonus’ moments in the morning – Cup of tea instead of shaving! Yes please!
